Election Day Get Out the Vote

2017-01-22T12:43:16+00:00

Election Day Get Out the Vote by IDCCA Executive Director Dan Kovats @ILDCCA @dankovats As we get closer and closer to Election Day you will start to hear campaigns talking about their Get Out the Vote (or GOTV) efforts. Normally GOTV is the weekend before the Election and on Election Day. How we approach GOTV has changed over the past couple of years. It is now easier for citizens to Early Vote and to Vote By Mail. These programs are vitally important to the overall success of all the Democrats on the ballot. Each County Party should be actively encouraging voters [...]

IDCCA Executive Director’s Message

2017-01-22T12:43:18+00:00

Executive Director’s Message by Dan Kovats, IDCCA Executive Director These are crazy times that we are living in. Reality television celebrity Donald Trump has officially wrapped up the Republican Presidential nomination. Prominent Republican leaders throughout the country are endorsing the Donald. Governor Rauner and US Senator Mark Kirk have both stated that they will support Trump but now they conveniently will miss the GOP National Convention. In Illinois we have now entered an unprecedented 12th month without a State budget. Governor Rauner continues to talk out of both sides of his mouth when it comes to this stalemate. One minute he [...]

IDCCA Executive Director’s Message

2017-01-22T12:43:19+00:00

The national Republican Party has done the unthinkable. They will be nominating a candidate for President who is a failed businessman and reality television star. A few nice things you could say about Donald Trump is he is a racist, bigot, sexist and xenophobic person. This is a man who tries to incite violence at his events and has done his best to silence any of his critics. This is the individual who Governor Bruce Rauner and US Senator Mark Kirk have said they would support in the General Election. This is what the Republican Party has come to. How do [...]

IDCCA Executive Director’s Message

2017-01-22T12:43:20+00:00

Chairmen, Can you believe the excitement in this room? That was the question that I was asked the most on March 21st. We had a packed house at our first ever Chicago Reception at the Hubbard Inn. There were so many people there that a half hour into the Reception you could barely move. I was truly impressed by the hard work of the Executive Board and our fundraising team to pull off this event. This was the first step for the IDCCA in our three year plan and it was a big one. I would like to thank some of [...]

IDCCA Executive Director’s Message

2017-01-22T12:43:20+00:00

Chairmen, It’s one of my most favorite times of year. I’m not talking about the NCAA College Basketball tournament, St. Patrick’s Day or baseball Spring Training (all of which I do enjoy). What I mean is we are days away from the Illinois Democratic Primary! Campaigns are already, or should be, into Get Out The Vote mode. We should be thankful to each of the candidates and their campaign staff for their dedication. On March 16th we come back together as a Democratic Party. We will unite behind the 2016 Democratic ticket and start working towards winning in November. I am [...]

IDCCA Executive Director’s Message

2017-01-22T12:43:31+00:00

Chairmen, We all know that importance of communicating in politics. The ability for everyone to be on the same page is vital when it comes down to crunch time in an election. Communications is also vital in building up a County Party and the IDCCA. That is why I have been sending out as much information as possible to each of the Chairmen about any information regarding the IDCCA. That is why we are in the process of revamping our website. My goal is to be able to provide resources to each of the County Chairmen so that they [...]
