DEMOCRATIC CHAIRS ENDORSE JOHN CURTIS IN STATE REP RUN
Western Illinois can count on Curtis for common sense, hard work and an end to Rauner’s games
SPRINGFIELD, Illinois – The Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association today announced the endorsement of John Curtis, Democratic candidate for State Representative of the 93rd district.
“John Curtis is just like the people of western Illinois – he doesn’t stop working,” said Doug House, president of the IDCCA. “John is a Democrat who brings reason, common sense and a passion for making sure western Illinois families reclaim their voice in Springfield. We’re proud to add the IDCCA onto his list of endorsements.”
In 2016, Curtis forged an aggressive grassroots campaign that took Republicans by surprise. Curtis’s work ethic, his background as a farmer, a teacher and a small business owner earned the respect of political observers from throughout the state.
Although his first attempt to serve in the General Assembly was unsuccessful, House says a John Curtis win is in the cards for 2018.
“The difference between 2016 and today is that places like western Illinois are seeing and, unfortunately, feeling the impact of Bruce Rauner’s failure to take charge of Illinois,” said House. “Statehouse Republicans have allowed Rauner to neglect and harm areas like western Illinois in his nonstop game of division. John Curtis brings people together. He’ll be tireless in his effort to restore badly-needed stability in western Illinois.”
The Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (IDCCA) is a statewide, grassroots Democratic Party organization comprised of the elected Democratic County Chairs in all 102 counties in Illinois. The mission of the IDCCA is to help elect Democrats in every county and region of Illinois while continuing to grow the Democratic Party throughout the state. Rock Island County Chairman Doug House is the President of the IDCCA.
