Democratic Chairmen’s Association Trains Nearly 100 Candidates
Trump-Rauner Failures are Fuel to the Fire of Democratic Recruitment Efforts

Springfield, IL – Today the Illinois Democratic County Chairmen’s Association (IDCCA) and the National Democratic Training Committee (NDTC, announced the results of their first ever IDCCA + NDTC Candidate Bootcamp training session for interested Democratic candidates.

“Our first ever training camp attracted 76 candidates from 35 different counties across Illinois. Democrats are engaged and ready to fight back against the disastrous Trump-Rauner agenda in Illinois,” said Doug House, President of the IDCCA.

IDCCA partnered with the NDTC, a national organization dedicated to providing free campaign training to Democrats at every level of office, to conduct the training sessions.  The Candidate Boot Camp was held in Springfield, Illinois and involved candidates from school board all the way to U.S. Congress. Candidates received training on communications, field, fundraising, operations, social media, and working with political institutions dedicated to electing Democrats.

“Bruce Rauner and Donald Trump’s failures are inspiring a new generation of leaders ready to do the hard work of campaigning at every level.  IDCCA is committed to training, guiding, and providing these new leaders with the tools they need to win at the ballot box and get to work restoring Illinois,” said Dan Kovats, Executive Director of IDCCA.

During IDCCA’s General Membership Meeting, held this past Saturday alongside the Candidate Boot Camp, the IDCCA heard from candidates and representatives of all the campaigns for Illinois Governor.  President House reacted positively to the information those candidates provided to IDCCA.

“Everywhere we go, we are learning how fired up Democrats are to take back the Governor’s mansion,” said House.  “I’m thrilled each of our candidates are traveling across Illinois and inspiring the grassroots to action,” he concluded.
